How clouds are maade

A cloud is a collection of  small drops  of water. The droplets are so light that they can float in the air. A cloud is made up of water droplets. A cloud forms when air is warmed up by the sun. As it rises, it slowly cools it reaches the saturation point and water condenses, forming a cloud. As long as the cloud and the air that its made of is warmer than the outside air around it, it floats!

How are clouds formed?
Air contains water, but close to the ground it is usually in the form of an invisible gas called water vapor. When warm air rises, it grows and cools. Cold air can't hold as much water vapor as warm air, so some of the vapor condenses on tiny pieces of dust that are flying in the air and forms a tiny droplet around each dust. When billions of these droplets come together they become a cloud.

Clouds and fog a basically the same thing, except fog is pretty much on the ground.fog is more seethrough than cloud.

Rain forms by the vaporised water collecting together and then gets to heavy that it all falls to the ground.

Rain is important.  If we didn’t have it we would have no water and we would have to do all the watering.  So it may be horrible and cold but its helpfull

Gravity is everywhere. It pulls us down to earth. If we didn’t have gravity we would be floating. Here’s a fun fact. Astronauts grow taller in space.  Astronauts gain 4 to 6 cm in space but on earth adults can lose 2 to 3 cm.  In space there is no gravity.

Gravity is invisible. Every time you jump, you experience gravity. It grabs you back down to earth. Without gravity, you would be floating off into the space along with all of the other objects on Earth. You see gravity every time you drop something like a pencil, a rubber and a book, basically everything.

Gravity is a force, along with tension.tension it when you pull on something tight.

The first set ,of the sea turtles life cycle, is when they hatch out of eggs. Their mother has laid 50 - 200, leathery ping-pong ball, sized eggs. It takes ,roughly, a month and a half before they hatch. Sadly 20% ,will never hatch. Each of the sea turtles are small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.  From there, they immediately face many challenges. Such as:

-the repelling force of the curunt
-crabs,seagulls,
raccoons
-human interference

and others. While making a dash for the ocean, only 50% of those will survive.

The 50% that get into the water have to rummage along the ocean top and find a patch of seaweed to hide under. They will do this for several months to avoid all their predators. To survive through this difficult for them. The causes are weather,
Other animals and unfortunate currents. 50% of those will miserably perish.

As they develop they will get from the size, of a dinner plate at year one, to a dinner table when they're adults. Which is about a decade or so for that species. When they become fully developed they get some measure of protection. The only predators now are some of the larger sharks species. For example bulls and whites. There are also the occasional killer whale.

Approximately two decades of age, the mothers are able to Lay eggs and continue the cycle in which their species depends on.

Those that began as eggs now less than 10% remain, But that is only without human interference. In the last centuries, in particular the last couple decades humans have done many things to our ocean.
For example:
beach development
plastic refuse
pouching
long line
nets
noxious chemicals including oils
which has upped the ante for sea turtles. As a consequence sea turtles survival rate has dropped to one persent. They have overcome many obstacles but this has happened so quickly it has overwhelmed the species. Do everything you can to help this species from becoming extinct!

Cross country

I was standing at the starting line, nervous, scared and worried.Thinking about the place that i will come.  HOONK!!!  We started running.  All of the legs moving in a kicking motion was kind of funny.  I tried not to walk for at least one and a half laps and i did it.  I saw lots of people talking but i just ignored them.  I was back at the court my heart was beating fast because i was running my legs of.  For a second i thought i was going to faint or break my leg but i didn’t.  I was at Mrs Foster and all i could think about was “just keep swimming, just keep swimming’’ and it encouraged me to run all the way to the the finishing chute but is wasn’t the just keep swimming that got me there it was also all the people cheering for me.A funny moment i remember was down the finishing schue Annabeth and i raced to the line and we tied!!.  If the students and the teachers hadn’t of encouraged me i think i would of walked most of the way.Cross country was really tiring but it surely made me stronger

Swimming 13 August

Today I had my 4th swimming lesson. Excitedly, we power walked to the bus when we were actually supposed to walk normally. When we got on the bus, some of the class rushed to get seats at the back of the bus. Finally we got to the millennium and went to the changing rooms. We waited for rm 22 to finish their swim.I dipped my feet into the water and it was warm but when my body got in it was freezing!!My goal is to kick faster when we are doing free style.
I think today was the best lesson yet!!:-)

School writing

writing

One winter’s morning,i was sitting on the playground bench. As i was sitting there i could see a bunch of small trees scattered around and it looked like a forest that had been cut down but only a few trees survived. There are trees around the red bricks that are denuded and look bold but across the street on Spencer road there is a big tree surrounded with smaller trees that makes it look like a proud peacock. Infront of me there is there is the playground that is covered with brown and white bark and it looked like there was a flood. If i turn around i could see a flat tree stump.I could smell the grass and mud combined that smelt like egg yolk(not that i have have smelled it before).

I can hear the different cars motors and it sounded like a lion roaring and running at the same time.I can see a red bean bag peeking through the window.I moved on to the hard concrete that felt like it was crumbling as i touched it.I could feel the bushes that looked like a crazy haircut.

My card writing

As I was riding the camel, I could smell its fur that smelled like rotten egg or milk that has gone sour.I felt the sand in my eyes it did not feel good at all.It  felt like little rocks in my eyes.
Excitedly,we saw the amazing I repeat amazing pyramids.wow the deseret is deserted
It was like seeing the ocean for the first time but not the water a pyramids.Egsusted,we carried on walking.as we walked it started to become dawn.
We were puffing and puffing like we had been walking for our whole life not stop. we made it to a resting spot. There we stood under a big tree that barely had leaves. It was time to get the water.we siped so that we didn’t have to go to the loo.obviosly there is no toilets in the desert.so we carried on walking.we completed our journey then we saw a boat that was waiting for us.I think that was the longest walk i’ve ever had.

ANZAC stands for Australia New Zealand army corps
We celebrate ANZAC day because lots of people died and risked their lives for us in WW1.
WW1 started on the 28 July 1914 and ended on the 11 November 1918.
100 444 New Zealand troops and nurses served in WW1.
Over 16 thousand New Zealanders died and round 41 thousand were wounded.
Over 37 MILLION people died or got wounded all over the world.

Poppies
People wear poppies to fundraise for wounded people from WW2.
Other countries wear poppies on the 11th of November to celebrate when
the war ended.
New Zealand and Australia wear poppies in April.
Poppies grow all over the world not just in Gallipoli

Nurses
Woman were not allowed to fight so they contributed as nurses
They were every bit as brave as the men
288 were decorated, 25 died, 423 served in Australia and 2286 served overseas
As nurses they fed and bandaged the injured men.

Life for other people
School children spent their time knitting things for soldiers
People lived in fear for their lives and that of service man & women.
People who were not fighting had black blinds to not let the light escape

Extra
11% of the population of France was killed
116,000 Americans died even though they fought for only 7 months
Russia had the biggest army

my friday afternoon

Today I walked home. My legs were hurting. I ate everything that I could. Then I was on my ipod. Then I listened to the songs that I practiced for choir. Then I played with the small orange bouncy ball that Sam gave the class for his birthday. Then I went back on my Ipod. I ended up falling asleep. I woke up at 6:48 pm after my nap.I got bored so I decided to write on my blog. That was my Friday afternoon.

First day at school

On Tuesday the 3rd of February was the first day of school. The first thing we did was get to know our class and to do that we played a game called the name game  We got to learn other peoples names. My new friends are Sarah, Brie, Amber and Ceeara. But that's not all. We made name tags for almost the whole day. Miss Mc Nae read a story called trash. Its about a boy named Raphael. That was my first day of school.
